Myth: Top 10 or Bust

Every year we meet families who believe that if their students do not get into a top 10, or an Ivy League school, their future will be forever damaged.  Please get this idea out of your head because it is one of the biggest myths out there.  We probably should’ve put this in the pricing structure article, but I’ll go ahead and say it here.  If you are hunting for a specific school based solely on the name, we are not the program for you.  Our program is designed to work with each individual family and their students to find the best path through college to give them the absolute best shot of hitting the ground running the day after college and taking off on an incredibly successful and rewarding life.  If you do not believe me, I have done some legwork for you.  This linked PDF shows a list of the S&P 500 companies, their CEOs, and the colleges from which they graduated.  Scan the list of undergrad schools from which they graduated and you may be surprised what you see.  Now, admittedly, many of their graduate degrees are from the “name” schools you will recognize, but that may (may not) be your next step after undergrad – one step at a time.  You are here to apply as an undergrad, first things first.  College Prep Coach is here for you, and we will work to make sure the college dream work for you.
