Graduation Day: This is the target

From the title above, you may all be thinking, “Of course graduation day is the target.”  As College Prep Coach sees it, you need to be looking at the next graduation day.  The graduation day we target is college, more specifically, the day after graduation from college.  If all the work we do now with the students and the families goes according to plan, or close enough to plan, as we will describe throughout the four years of high school syllabi in this program, your student, on the day after graduation from college, 1) will have a plan, 2) will know exactly what they’re doing, and 3) will have the skill set to start executing the plan on that day.  To us, that is success.  If your student wakes up the day after college, however, and says, “OK, now what?”, they missed the boat.  If they do not have a plan the day they graduate from college, and a plan comes from doing the work in college to find the correct major in which they are interested, finding internships, and starting to build a résumé, not just a transcript, they will find themselves in a position where the class behind them will now be vying for the job that they should have already locked down.  The four years of college move that quickly.  The day they graduate, the junior class becomes seniors and are now targeting the same job your student is.  It all comes down to this one day, and if your student plays their cards correctly, they will be prepared to take off and lead a terrific life of curiosities and successes.  This has always been the plan behind College Prep Coach’s efforts and will continue to be our focus for both the students and the families.
