Know the “Rules of the Game”
The college admissions process can be viewed as a game, and like any game, it is much better understood and easier to play if you know the rules. As will be introduced in the 6th – 8th Grade Syllabus, the primary trifecta used in the college admissions process covers grades, standardized test scores, and rigor. For a very high-level explanation, these are the rules to the game. Understanding that colleges will first look at the combination of your grades, your standardized test scores (which are nothing more than a reflection of your learning and comprehension of the material which led to your grades), and the rigor of your curriculum, you will understand the game.
Playing a game without understanding the rules is very difficult. College Prep Coach will help lay out the rules and help you best to understand the game so you and your family can work your way through it easily.
